What is the policy rate?
The policy rate is the interest rate the Riksbank sets to steer the general interest rate level in the economy, and thereby indirectly inflation. It's decided at the Riksbank's monetary policy meetings, normally six times a year.
How does the policy rate affect me?
A raised policy rate normally makes borrowing more expensive, which shows up in mortgage rates among other things, while savings rates tend to rise. A lowered policy rate has the opposite effect.
ⓘ The policy rate is fetched from the Riksbank's open API (SWEA) and updated once a day.
