What does inflation measure?

Inflation measures how much the general price level rises over time. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) and the inflation target the Riksbank steers towards (CPIF) are the most commonly used measures in Sweden.

How does inflation affect your everyday life?

High inflation erodes purchasing power if wages don't keep pace, and also affects interest rates, since the Riksbank normally raises the policy rate to curb inflation that's too high.

Inflation figures are fetched from SCB's open statistics API (Consumer Price Index, year-over-year change) and update whenever SCB publishes new statistics.
