Electricity prices in Sweden

Sweden is divided into four electricity price zones (SE1–SE4). Prices often differ between north and south depending on where electricity is produced and where it's consumed.

Why do prices differ between zones?

The price in each zone is driven by local supply and demand, available transmission capacity between zones, and where in the country electricity production (hydro, wind, nuclear) is concentrated.

Prices are fetched from elprisetjustnu.se (based on Nord Pool spot prices) and update daily. Prices exclude VAT, markups and grid transmission fees.
